Soda Squirt is a Mexican carbonated soft drink flavored with grapefruit, made by the Squirt brand, now part of Grupo Peñafiel. It has a fresh, fruity and slightly citrusy taste, with the typical fizz of Mexican sodas. It is known as one of the base ingredients of the Paloma, the quintessential Mexican cocktail.
Soda Squirt is great served cold as a non-alcoholic drink. It is also the main ingredient of the Paloma: mix it with tequila blanco and lime juice in a glass with ice. It can also be used to make grapefruit micheladas or as a base for non-alcoholic cocktails with fresh fruit.
No, Soda Squirt Grapefruit does not contain caffeine. It is a carbonated fruit drink, not a cola, so it is also suitable for those who want to avoid caffeine. However, it contains sugars, like most sodas, and should be consumed in moderation.
Before opening, Soda Squirt should be stored at room temperature in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. Once opened, it is best to drink it within a few hours to keep the fizz, or seal it tightly and store it in the refrigerator for a maximum of 1-2 days.
Yes, Soda Squirt Grapefruit is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, since it contains no ingredients of animal origin. People with a citrus intolerance should be careful, as it contains natural grapefruit flavors.
