Made in Mexico by Chocolate Abuelita. In 1919 the La Azteca chocolate factory was founded in Orizaba, Veracruz, moved to Mexico City in 1929 and the Chocolate Abuelita brand was born in 1939. Sara Garcia becomes the face of Abuelita Chocolate as a Mexican icon representing the most important attributes of the brand: warm, welcoming and familiar. Nestlé acquired the Abuelita Chocolate brand and it is currently produced in Mexico in the factories of Toluca. The brand has been bringing Mexican families together for more than 80 years through its authentic flavor, aroma and foam.
