ORIGIN
Made in Mexico by Chocolate Abuelita. In 1919 the La Azteca chocolate factory was founded in Orizaba, Veracruz, moved to Mexico City in 1929 and the Chocolate Abuelita brand was born in 1939. Sara Garcia becomes the face of Abuelita Chocolate as a Mexican icon representing the most important attributes of the brand: warm, welcoming and familiar. Nestlé acquired the Abuelita Chocolate brand and it is currently produced in Mexico in the factories of Toluca. The brand has been bringing Mexican families together for more than 80 years through its authentic flavor, aroma and foam.
PREPARATION
To make a traditional Mexican hot chocolate, add a Chocolate Abuelita bar to 4 cups of milk and heat over medium heat. For the powdered version, use 1 cup of milk and 2 tablespoons of Chocolate Abuelita. Stir constantly with a whisk or a food processor until the bar is completely melted and the drink becomes creamy and frothy.
In addition to the classic drink, you can use Chocolate Abuelita to enhance dessert recipes. Try adding it to a chocolate cake for a more intense flavor, or melt it and use it as a cookie glaze. The combination of chocolate and cinnamon will give your desserts an authentic and spicy touch.
