      ORIGIN

Produced in Mexico by La Anita, the history of the La Anita company began in 1913 in Merida, Yucatan, when Ana Sosa de Mendez decided to share the traditional flavors of Yucatan through products made with traditional recipes and processes. Over time, La Anita products have become known and appreciated nationally and internationally and used in many Latin American dishes.

      PREPARATION

Achiote La Anita is a versatile Mexican condiment, perfect for marinating meat, fish or vegetables and adding a rich, authentic flavour to your dishes. Made with annatto seeds, spices and other traditional ingredients, this product is ideal for preparing dishes such as the famous pollo adobado or cochinita pibil. For an authentic Mexican experience, dissolve a portion of achiote in orange juice and a little vinegar, creating a marinade to brush over chicken or pork. Let it sit for a few hours before cooking over low heat or in the oven for an intense, aromatic flavour.

You can also use achiote to add a special touch to an appetizer. Make small achiotado pork tacos by cooking the meat in the marinade and serving it on corn tortillas with red onion, cilantro, and lime. This seasoning not only adds a deep, slightly smoky flavor to your dishes, but it also adds a deep red color that makes the presentation even more inviting.
